This newborn cloth diapers post was brought to you by Thanks Mama. All opinions are mine.
Baby Brother weighed 10 lbs, 7 oz at birth. I’ll admit, I was a bit disappointed that he wouldn’t get to wear his newborn clothes and diapers. It’s like we skipped a whole phase! I received two cloth diapers from Thanks Mama to review, and they were prepped and waiting for him when we got home. One was a newborn BumGenius All-In-One and the other was a Thirsties All-In-One in Size 1 and I was estatic that they both actually fit!
His first cloth diaper was the newborn BumGenius in Albert:
The newborn BumGenius fits babies 6-12 lbs and it fit Baby Brother perfectly! I am not usually a fan of hook and loop, but in this diaper, it’s pretty awesome. It allows for quicker changes and there is a nice wide area of fabric above the closure so there is no risk of it scratching his belly. There is also a nice laundry tab in the back that I just attach the hook and loop tabs to during washing so they stay in good condition. This diaper is a really good newborn cloth choice because it’s easy to use and launder, and it dries quickly. Plus, the fit is really good, too, which means the poop doesn’t fly out the leg hole like some brands of disposable because of skinny newborn legs!
The Thirsties All-In-One in Size one fits babies from 6 lbs up to 18. I love this diaper because it fits really well and is adjustable to grow with your baby. It has a “tunnel” design inside that helps with absorbency, washing, and drying. I love the snap closures and the fact that the diaper contains no VOC’s, PVC, phthalates, or lead. It’s a simply elegant diaper that does a great job at what it is supposed to do! And when your baby outgrows this diaper, there is a Size Two that will carry you through the remainder of cloth diapering because it fits 18-40 lbs!
The newborn BumGenius sells for only $12.95 and you can get the Thirsties for $15.99 at Thanks Mama. Thanks Mama is dedicated to bringing the best cloth diapers, training pants and swim diapers on the market at the best value. They have many cloth diaper packages that have volume discounts built in, many come with complementary products and make shopping for cloth diapers in bulk easy. Cloth diapers for parents that are new to cloth are also available; they are great for trying different types and brands of cloth diapers. Thanks Mama has knowledgeable customer service that would be happy to help with any questions or concerns.
