Whether you’re new to gluten free cooking or a seasoned pro, here’s why the air fryer should be your go-to gadget.

Quick and Convenient

One of the biggest advantages of using an air fryer is its speed. Unlike traditional ovens, air fryers preheat in just a few minutes and cook food much faster. This means you can whip up gluten free snacks and desserts in a fraction of the time. Imagine having crispy, golden-brown treats ready in under 20 minutes.

Healthier Cooking

Air fryers use hot air circulation to cook food, requiring little to no oil. This makes it a healthier option compared to deep frying. You can enjoy your favorite gluten free goodies like crispy potato wedges, air fryer apple fritters, or even an air fryer cake without the extra calories and fat.

Versatility at Its Best

The air fryer is incredibly versatile and perfect for making a wide range of gluten free snacks and desserts. From cookies and brownies to fruit crisps and churros, the possibilities are endless. Plus, the consistent temperature control ensures your treats are cooked evenly every time.

Easy Cleanup

Say goodbye to the hassle of scrubbing multiple pots and pans. The air fryer basket is usually non-stick and dishwasher safe, making cleanup a breeze. This is particularly helpful when baking sticky gluten-free treats that can otherwise leave a mess. Of course, there are also a multitude of air fryer accessories, like parchment paper or single-serve dessert pans.

Should you have a dedicated gluten free air fryer?

If you are celiac, especially, I would highly recommend buying a dedicated gluten free air fryer, unless your entire family cooks gluten free. The air fryer works by blowing hot air around, and those crumbs can fly around and get in the coils and in places that you cannot really clean.

What are some gluten free products to keep on hand?

The more you use your air fryer, the more comfortable and adventurous you will become with recipes. If you are ready to venture into the advanced world of cooking gluten free with your air fryer, I would recommend a good gluten free all purpose flour, almond milk, fresh fruit, granulated sugar and/or brown sugar, cooking spray, coconut flour and possibly almond flour. Make sure to keep these in a dedicated gluten free space in your kitchen, if you or someone else is cooking with gluten products for other members of the family.

Can any recipe be made gluten free?

Most any recipe can indeed be transformed into a gluten free version. There are people that have perfected gluten free recipes to make them the tastiest, fluffiest, least gluten free-ish recipes possible, but if you are short on time, just swap the flour for a gluten-free flour blend. Also watch out for common ingredients that contain gluten and find a swap for them.

Can any recipe be made in the air fryer?

I have found that most any recipe made in the oven can be made into an air fryer version. You usually don’t even need specific instructions. I always say cook for 5 minutes and check to see how it is cooking, and then go from there, but sometimes, especially with thinly sliced vegetables, 5 minutes might be too long. Trial and error is great, but you can usually find the air fryer recommendations online if you are worried.

Making gluten-free snacks and desserts in an air fryer is not only easy but also a fun and rewarding experience. With quick cook times, healthier results, and easy cleanup, you’ll find yourself reaching for your air fryer more often. Give these recipes a try and enjoy the delicious world of gluten-free air fryer cooking!
