Have you ever wondered how to make fabric pumpkins? I have seen many different ones in the stores, and I wanted to try to make my own. The boys were really interested in this craft, and they were able to help with most everything. Obviously the sharp knife cutting should be left to adults or older children, but everything else is totally doable for little ones.
There is NOTHING in the world I love more than pumpkin decor. (ok, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration…) But really, when I see pumpkins at the store, I want to buy them ALL. I love to carve pumpkins, eat pumpkins, and decorate pumpkins. I also do enjoy pumpkin spice, pumpkin recipes, and putting my babies in huge pumpkins, it’s true! And these pumpkin cupcakes? yes please!View Post
Everyone who knows me, knows by now that I love my air fryer and I love making new air fryer recipes! I made these air fryer breakfast pockets awhile back and they were a huge hit, both with my family and the online community! I wanted to use Once Again Amoré chocolate and almond spread to make a delicious recipe that would be great for breakfast, snack, or dessert, and I made it SUPER easy so if you have these two ingredients and an air fryer, you can do it! BUT if you do not have an air fryer, the beauty is that you can cook it in the oven just as easily.View Post
The boys are back in school now and wow, that is such a huge change from the 24/7 family time we had. It was nice, don’t get me wrong, I loved being with them and having them with me, BUT, the constant need for them to be engaged in an activity OR constant bickering was not cool. Most days were great and they are at an age where they can entertain themselves, but I had to be proactive at what, exactly, they were using for entertainment. No one wants their kids to be stuck in front of a video game or TV all hours of the day, but there needs to be options for screen-free activities. Before summer began, we set limits for screen-time and I wrote out an extensive list of activities that they could do to avoid being “bored.”
We were sent a box of Tinker Active math and science workbooks. These are MUCH MORE than books with tons of worksheets in them. They are full with bright colors, exercises, some practice sheets, different ways of practicing simple facts, activities, and hands on projects!!
Every few pages, you will see a project page, as shown below. It shows what materials and tools you will need to complete the project, and precise instructions on how to do so. This one is about the plant life cycle:
My kids DO love projects, but they also love mind stretching activities. The 8 year old loved this math activity:
The boys enjoyed the Paddle Play craft, which was so easy to make and provided hours of entertainment!
Tinker Active workbooks are aligned to Common Core State Standards and are an excellent supplement to schoolwork or at-home study. They are packed with curriculum-based exercises designed for all learners (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic).
With its focus on tinkering, making, and engineering, these workbooks equip the youngest readers with essential STEM knowledge and skills, while teaching critical ways to engage with and explore the world, all through screen-free activities!
Once your child has completed the workbook, he or she can unbox a collectible magnet hidden in the back cover! Kids will love discovering and proudly displaying it with the included poster.
A TinkerActive Workbook typically retails for $12.99. Here’s where to find them!

Our oldest started playing soccer a few months shy of turning 4. His dad was the coach and it was our first experience at any kind to play sports with a team for our kids. It was challenging for us because we also had a 1 1/2 year old who really did not want to be there and my husband soon realized that 3 and 4 year olds were a bit hard to work with, at times. It was a great learning experience for everyone and our son fell in love with soccer and made some new friends. Fast forward to today, our son is 10 and he has played 13 seasons of soccer, 2 seasons of indoor soccer, 1 season of baseball, 5 seasons of basketball, and is signed up to try flag football this season. Sounds pretty crazy, right? View Post
Wireless audio systems are all the rage in home entertainment. If you have wondered how the sound compares between a wireless system and a traditional wired system, you would be right in asking questions. Oftentimes, the wireless systems mean lower quality and breaks in the sound. The Bowers & Wilkins Formation® Suite is the first wireless audio system that provides a clear, crisp sound and features that live up to the Bowers & Wilkins high quality standards. View Post

Being a stay at home mom is great, it really is. I am so thankful that I am able to make an income and not leave the house. It saves on childcare, commuting expenses, and more. There are, of course, down sides to working from home, as well, but for the most part, I really enjoy it. This summer has been trying at times, with moving and the kids being out of school. It is hard to sit down for any length of time, especially to sit down and get some work done on the computer. BUT I have embraced it and tried to say yes or maybe “in a little while” to my kids when they ask me to do something. And this little guy picture above is a big reason the kids and I have thoroughly enjoyed doing ALL THE THINGS together this summer. View Post
Spiced Apple Iced Tea was brought to you by Torani. All opinions are mine. #AToraniMorning
It is AUGUST and to me, that means all things FALL are on their way! School, apples, pumpkins, cooler weather, and for our family, fall soccer and flag football. We are in Texas, though, so while I want to be enjoying all of the delicious Fall flavors, they usually have to be in iced form until the end of October! I love iced tea, so I made this delicious back-to-school, fall inspired drink: Spiced Apple Iced Tea! Surprise your favorite teacher with a glass in the morning and her day will be off to a good start!View Post
Our youngest is just about to start kindergarten. In some ways, it came way too quickly and in some ways, it feels like he should have been in kindergarten already. He is excited about joining his older brothers at a brand new to us school, but he, of course, has a lot of anxiety about school. While I am a firm believer in letting them lead the way in the preschool years when it comes to knowledge and “school stuff,” I have found that he loves games and activities that encourage learning and he especially loves math. So, this “Feed the Piggy Bank” math activity really is right up his alley.View Post
