Sometimes we just need a breakfast for one. Whether it is because you live alone, are on a different diet than your family, or you just want something for yourself, these Gluten Free Waffles for One are perfect for an after workout meal, and I will tell you why!
I am gluten free and have been for about 8 years now. I love waffles, if you have not noticed all my delicious waffle recipes, you need to check them out! For the longest time, I did not have waffles after going gluten free because I could not get the fluffy waffles that I grew up loving, so I just ditched them.
This recipe is for delicious waffles that are good with maple syrup, whipped cream, or just plain hot off the waffle iron.
Why are these waffles great for after workout?
These waffles have just what you need to refuel after a workout. Plus, they have creatine powder baked in.
What is creatine used for?
Creatine monohydrate provides your muscles with additional energy and supplementing with creatine can help you lift heavier and complete more reps. It can also increase your endurance.
Creatine also aids in recovery.
Can I bake with creatine?
Yes! Creatine is still stable at high temperatures, so feel free to bake with it.
Why is Naked Creatine so great?
“Naked Creatine is the highest grade, fastest dissolving, and rapidly absorbed creatine monohydrate available. Studies have shown that creatine monohydrate supplementation enhances gains in maximal strength, repetitions under sub-maximal load, delays the onset of fatigue, and increases the body’s overall training capacity.” – Naked Nutrition website
I appreciate that Naked Nutrition products have been tested for heavy metals by an independent third party. It is also fast dissolving, made in the USA, and has no additives, only premium ingredients.
I tried the Strawberry Naked Creatine in this recipe, and it turned out great!
How does the Strawberry Naked Creatine taste?
I was drinking Naked Creatine with water, so the strawberry Naked Creatine is definitely more delicious than just plain, although I don’t have a problem with that taste at all. It just tastes….plain. The strawberry creatine was definitely an upgrade and makes drinking creatine and water more delicious.
How do you make gluten free waffles for one?
The recipe is easy! All you need is an egg, coconut oil (or your favorite oil,) your favorite gluten free flour 1:1 blend, baking powder, salt, your favorite kind of milk, and 2 scoops of creatine.
How many waffles does this recipe make?
I made this recipe and cooked the waffles in my Dash mini waffle maker, and it made 4 waffles.
What can I serve with gluten free waffles?
You can eat anything with gluten free waffles! Here are a few suggestions: scrambled eggs for extra protein, fresh berries or fresh fruit, or a breakfast meat like sausage or bacon. They can be eaten by themselves, too, as they make a nice on the go meal.
What toppings can I put on these gf waffles?
They certainly don’t need a topping if you are watching calories, but some options include: maple syrup, peanut butter, melted butter, whipped cream, a dollop of strawberry jam or my delicious vegan black currant cream.
The strawberry flavor in these waffles is not overwhelming, so you might want to add some fresh strawberries to your batter, top with strawberry syrup or jam, or simply serve with strawberries if you want that extra strawberry flavor.
I hope you enjoy this delicious gluten free waffles recipe!
