Strawberry Fluff

Growing up, my mom would make a delicious fruit dessert called Pink Salad. It was made with cherry pie filling and some other ingredients, and we loved it…and still do! I made this Strawberry Fluff with that in mind, but also the Cranberry Fluff recipe I recently discovered that I loved over Thanksgiving!

I have seen a few recipes for strawberry fluff that have gelatin in it, but for this recipe, I wanted to keep it simple and not pile in the ingredients.

The ingredients in this recipe are: strawberries, sugar, cool whip, crushed pineapples, and mini marshmallows.

When making this recipe, I found that simply using chopped strawberries wasn’t really what I was going for. It was good, but the color was mostly white and the berries didn’t blend well. So that’s when I also added some pureed strawberries and that was exactly what I was going for! You could puree all of the strawberries and I think that would work well, but I also like having some bits of strawberry, too. It’s up to you.

Can you replace any ingredients in this recipe to make it healthier? Probably. You can omit the marshmallows and possibly use coconut whipped cream or whipped cream, but I haven’t made it with those ingredients, so I’m not really sure. This is a recipe that you can definitely experiment with and it’s hard to mess up.

Strawberry fluff is a great dessert any time of the year, but it would make an especially sweet Valentine’s Day dessert, springtime dessert, or even an Easter potluck meal addition. It’s very versatile and oh so yummy!
