Wearing Your Newborn – The New Boba 4G

Newborns loved to be held.  It’s no wonder, because they just spent the first part of their lives being hugged in a warm, cozy womb!  Sometimes, however, moms don’t have spare arms to hold our newborn, or if we do, we are walking around trying to hold Baby and do a million other things with the spare arm.  Wearing your newborn has many great benefits for parents and baby!

I was thrilled when I found out that the new Boba 4g could accomodate any size baby, and was excited to get to use mine when Baby Brother was only five days old.  We had been trapped in the house for far too long, and I needed to get OUT, and so did Captain Fussybuckets and D.  I knew, however, that I wasn’t ready to attempt taking all three boys shopping by myself, so I sweet talked dear Hubby into going with us, and we ventured out to Target for a few items.

I hadn’t tried on the Boba before that day.  Before we left, I quickly tried it on and adjusted the straps and buckles to fit me and read up on how to properly wear Baby Brother during the car ride to Target.  It seemed really simple!  Once we got there, I quickly put Baby Brother in the Boba 4g in the parking lot.  It was SO easy and he was incredibly snug and slept the whole time without a peep.

I was able to wear Baby Brother, shop for what I needed, and still have hands free to tend to the older brothers.  Since then, I’ve worn Baby Brother around the house, while shopping, and even today at the church potluck.  I don’t know how moms, especially moms of more than one do it without a Boba.  These things are seriously amazing.  So many people have stopped and asked me where they could get a carrier like mine, told me a story about wearing their own baby, or even showed the baby to their kids and said “I used to wear you in a carrier like that.”  It’s pretty cool!  And since it’s cold and flu season, this is a great way to keep baby away from strangers itching to hold a baby.  They can look but not touch and that’s fabulous for keeping us healthy!

Besides being a huge benefit for the hands free wearer, baby carriers like the Boba 4G are good for baby, too.  It’s a great way for parents and newborns to bond with each other, for starters.  When you wear your newborn close to your chest, you help keep him warm, can monitor his breathing, and helps you become more attuned to your baby’s  needs.  It also helps me be able to take better care of the older boys, especially D who likes to wander ahead of us while walking through the parking lot.  The Boba 4G has made me a more confident parent and not have to lug around that huge infant carseat everywhere!

I’m so happy to announce that I am a Boba Ambassador!  I look forward to a year of babywearing Baby Brother in 2014.  Even if he does make it up to 30 lbs by his first birthday, I will be more than prepared with the super comfy Boba 4G!

Oh how I loved wearing my baby girls!!!  Not only was it comforting for both me and the babies, but once I got a baby carrier, I realized I could actually get things done!!!  Shopping, laundry, dishes...double bonus!!!  :)

I never did babywearing hardly at all with my daughter and kind of regret it now - if i ever have another child, I will really need to!

I wish I had wore my son when he was a baby. This looks so easy and convenient. Next time.

I love the options moms have now for baby wearing.  It was not that popular 17 years ago when my daughter was an infant, and truth be told I would probably have been scared silly to 'wear' her as I probably would have thought she'd fall out!

And now my ovaries are aching!!! What a sweet sweet baby!! And I love how the carrier seems to really support and cradle the little one while mommy can be hands free! Very cool!
