Peanut Butter Banana with Crushed Graham Crackers Snack

Do you have those awesome memories from your childhood that involve food?  I have a few, but this one snack is definitely my favorite.  Yes, even better than eating fresh Pizza Inn pizza in the car on the way home from a long shopping trip!  My mom would make this peanut butter banana with crushed graham crackers on top and it was delectable…a real treat.  You can also put raisins or Cheerios on top, but that just isn't as good!

Ingredients:

  • one banana
  • one TBSP peanut butter
  • one half of a graham cracker, per banana, crushed

The simplest way for me to crush the graham cracker is to put it in a baggie and roll a glass over it until it is finely crushed.  Spread the peanut butter over the (peeled) banana and then sprinkle the crushed graham cracker all over it…and eat!  YUM!  It's a simple, quick, no cook, nutritious treat for your kids…or you!

So the next time your kids are hungry and asking for a snack, make them feel special like my  mom always did and serve up this special treat for them!  It's the perfect combination of fruit, protein, and utter goodness.  Slice it up afterwards for a finger food for independent toddlers or let your preschooler conquer it alone with a fork.  Whatever works.  🙂

Do you have a favorite childhood snack or an easy to prepare snack that your kids love?
