The War on Crumbs

This is a ridiculous blog post, but I have to get the word out.  Please, PLEASE stop the crumbs.  Crumbs are horrible and my sons, obviously, don't show any signs of stopping the crumbs any time soon.  Neither does my dear husband, who is THE worst crumb leaver I know.  I love him dearly and I think I'm doing good because this is one of his very few flaws, but every time he eats, no matter how big his plate, there are crumbs left behind.

He comes by it naturally though.  His father is also a habitual Crumb Leaver.  I remember one of the first times he came to our house, he put some butter on his toast and bam!  Crumbs alllll up in the butter.  That's fine if you're going to only be eating toast, but what happens when you want some butter for your mashed potatoes?  Do you really want toast crumbs in your potatoes?  Some don't care, but I do.

This picture was taken after Captain Fussybuckets ate a granola bar this morning.  You see, I provided him with a plate because I know granola can be messy.  But yet, after the granola was gone…crumbs.  everywhere.

I try to accept my fate – a mom living in a Crumby World.  I will try to teach  my children to eat over their plates and not wipe their crumby hands on their shirts, but it is a huge task.  Please, if you have any advice (other than crumb therapy or some OCD prescription drugs,) please share!

They will never go away.  THe male species cannot see crumbs.  They do not have eyes that can focus on such intricate particles.  Sugar is the same situation.  Every.Single.MOrning, k-ster gets sugar on the counter when getting his coffee and Every.Single.Time he denies it, can't see it, says I'm making it up.  It has to be their chromosomal makeup.  Probably something from the old hunter gatherer days right?  Man sees big buck and kills.  Woman sees tiny berries and picks.

Crumbs are my enemy, I have one of those granite tops that you have to look from counter level to see what you did not pick up....feel your pain
