Captain Fussybuckets takes after his mommy and has a big sweet tooth. Luckily, he LOVES fruit and most of the time his sweet tooth can be satisfied with a bowl of strawberries or grapes. Sometimes, however, it is nice to be able to let him enjoy something sweet and special. It's even better when he can eat something that has fruit in it and no high fructose corn syrup, artificial dyes, or ingredients that I cannot pronounce.
We have enjoyed Whole Fruit Smoothies in the past, so I knew the boys would love the Whole Fruit Sorbets. The five delicious flavors of sorbet that we have tried are: Black Cherry, Mango, Lemon, Strawberry, and Raspberry. The sorbet comes in pint sized cartons, each containing enough for a family of four, as each serving size is about half of a cup and there are four servings in each pint.
Whole Fruit Sorbets are naturally fat free, but do contain sugar, so it is about 150 calories per serving, with 39 grams of carbs:
The Captain's favorite flavor was Black Cherry and Baby D loved them all. I tried a few bites and the strawberry was absolutely delicious, as was the lemon (pictured below.) I love how the Lemon sorbet isn't bright yellow, it's a very natural color:
I definitely prefer my kids eating Whole Fruit sorbet over most ice creams and other frozen treats because as a whole, the sorbets are better for them. I don't like that Whole Fruit uses corn syrup solids, but we can enjoy them every once in awhile.
